GDS International, which is on to its 18th year of operations, is now determined to be the world's no. 1 business-to-business events company.
Way back in 1993, when GDS was launched, it was a publishing firm. Spencer Green, the person who launched the company, then eyed the markets of China, India and South America and did wonders with his publishing business. Spencer Green, who had had enough experience working with Sterling Publications, first as a Sales Executive and then as Sales Manager and it was this experience that stood in good stead of him when he started off the publishing business. The company flourished and things went simply great. But then times changed and a company that was so dynamic and result oriented couldn't help taking changes in its stride. 1998 saw the company getting transformed into GDS International, privately owned business-to-business events and media company. The company's first conference, Enterprise China was launched. In the next couple of years, the Enterprise series was rolled out across China and Latin America. This proved to be a success. The company specialised in industry-centric summits for senior decision makers and grew over the years, becoming a true international concern. From 1993 to 2010, the growth recorded by the company has been simply phenomenal. A clear and impressive kind of presence has been made in the publishing and events business. The company has come a long way off from where it had started years ago. In 2010, the recorded revenue for the company from its offices in Bristol and Cardiff (UK), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), New York (U.S.A.) and Sydney (Australia) was £40 million. With such great attainments to its credit, it's but natural for GDS International to aspire to be the world's no. 1 business-to-business events company- something that it would no doubt accomplish very soon.
