Since direct sales happens to be the most simple, direct and unsophisticated area in marketing, it won't be cool to give tips to people involved in it. It may sound as funny as giving tips on how to eat or how to sleep or how to live. But just as we can always tell others how to eat healthy or how to sleep peacefully or how to live life fully, we can also give tips to people on direct sales and marketing. These are just some of the very basic of things that one has to keep in mind, and not at all tips in the serious sense. So, here we go, with the four commandments:
Know thyself:
Knowing oneself is of utmost importance in direct sales. One has to be fully aware of one's capabilities and have confidence in oneself to begin with.
Know others:
Knowing others is as important as knowing oneself. Only if you have in it to make a clear assessment of people you are meeting and talking with can you use your marketing and persuasive skills effectively. Moreover customer is the centre of everything in direct marketing.
Know the company:
Make a thorough study of the company whose products or services you're going to sell. Try to find out if the company has got enough credibility and also that it doesn't have any negatives to its credit.
Know your products:
Have a thorough idea of the products that you are going to promote. Remember, you are to promote a product by describing its benefits and hence you should have a thorough idea of the product, its benefits and everything related to it. You may have to answer all sorts of queries coming from the customer's side.
